The literature side of the forum isn't very defined as far as what represents 3DT, so I'm proposing a list of books that everyone should read in order to benefit themselves. This list works on a general level and is not designed to lean a certain way. I also know the stigma in most places is "I don't have time" or "reading is for nerds", so I wanted to make sure the books aren't tomes and get their point across or are at least engaging for most of us. I hope you appreciate the effort put forth.
Note: Some of the PDF sections are actually epub or mobi files. Apologies if you do not prefer those. I quickly browsed libgen for these copies.
1. Beowulf
Mandatory epic poem, if you hate poetry then read this and this alone.

2. The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis
I'd say the best place to start with Lewis. It is a clever narrative that intertwines a good understanding of how men are broken down by other forces. From here you can read his books in any order.

3. Bowling Alone by Robert D. Putnam
I know a lot of us struggle with isolation or networking, so this book is a good stepping stone in figuring those things out. Unlike a lot of books that just spew data and shrug, Putnam provides helpful guidance to solve our concern of social decay.

4. King Warrior Magician Lover by Robert Moore and Douglas Gillette
Moore and Gillette do a great job crafting a bitesize Jungian survival guide for the modern man. We can look within ourselves and usually others more "effortlessly" the archetypes that separate the boys from the men. Essential read for sure.

An early example of southern gothic literature that focuses on what drives a man to retribution. What lengths do we go for forgiveness and why? Is it wise to shed blood in this way? What is glory and what is vainglory? A powerful story.

Bit of a cheat here, as you can find the commencement speech he gave that was later transcribed into the book on youtube, but it is still something all of us need to hear or read every now and then. A nice pocket piece of wisdom to get you through the day to day.

8. Human Destructiveness by Anthony Storr
Psychiatrist who studied Jungian analysis breaks down the reasons we can act upon dark and cruel deeds. What causes people to engage with others who do these misdeeds? Admittedly a lot of nobrainers here but for the uninitiated it is a breeze to get through and for younger members is definitely essential.
