Recently with the recommedation of fellow Operator termer here on the forums, I've migrated most of my stuff to a Linux based environment. I've used Linux for work in the past, but nothing is more satisfying to me than the Trinity desktop enviroment.
You can download and try Trinity yourself if you do not like the overabundance of applications that KDE comes with, trinity aims to be a nostalgic view through the older KDE styles.

“He's passed on to a better, more euphemistic place.”
I never used old KDE, but I was always a heavy OpenBox user.
My first Linux distro was Ubuntu, but I soon switched to Lubuntu which is basically Ubuntu but for weaker systems. It came with LXDE, a nice desktop environment that functions a lot like Windows but is a lot more resource efficient. That desktop environment ran on the OpenBox window manager.
Later, I switched to OpenBox entirely when I started using BunsenLabs which was pretty good and based on Debian.
OpenBox is really nice cause it's lightweight but still familiar. It's also very configurable however it still comes with good defaults so you don't have to fuck around too much to get it comfortable. Definitely recommend it for those who want to get away from heavy desktop environments.

I generally use xfce but I've been meaning to switch to dwm. Using the shell can be very rewarding and there's been a few times where I've skipped the wm altogether. If you're just listening to music or writing, windows aren't inherently needed and it can be good to cut out the distractions.
The most cyberpunk thing you can do, as in the dystopian meaning of the word, is watching Bl*ck M*rror on N*tflix and then talking about it on R*ddit.

Would you recommend Trinity to someone who hasn't used any Linux machine before? I plan to turn my laptop into a Linux to see if its worth moving over from windows.
When it's all said and done, I want to be able to look back at my life and see a frag movie of myself taking names and chewing bubblegum
