What do you think it will bring us? An important point to consider when reflecting on this would be to see what has changed between 2020 and 2025, which gives an idea of where things are headed. I believe we are in a “post-internet” era (post-net ?). The hyper-massification that began with smartphones and took hold during the pandemic has reached a new peak. The Internet of Things, the network as another lifeblood of society and not as a parallel place. Aiming to make smartphones absolutely essential for accessing things without a physical, analog, or web-based alternative, in the same way that car registration documents or social security cards are. Basically, it makes “having the app” little more than vital so that you don't get soft-blocked (videogame sense) in real life. As for entertainment or content creation, I also want to know your predictions for the next four years of generative AI, accessed en masse by third worlders. Beyond the enshitification, I think the amount of space it's taking up on the internet is worrying. I'm talking about terabytes, sometimes hundreds of them taken up by a single user. Will YouTube restrict the ability to upload content, massively delete the AI slop, or do nothing? This present of accumulated crap and vulgar centralization of the internet, although this is common in society now and not just a virtual issue, brings great opportunities in my opinion. I believe that great projects will emerge from the pile of garbage (yep 3DT for example yep) and wonderful people who have been pushed to their limits by the current situation and have decided to go out in search of the truth (and their own self). I am referring to real life with this last point. What I mean is that a select upper class is emerging that stands out for being genuine and not a copy of a copy of --- they are not what they consume. Emphasizing this last topic I have brought up, I believe that nowadays it is extremely valuable to be yourself, to be genuine, and it will be becoming more and more ...hmm, new renaissance? maybe the 2030s

I don't think there's going to be a post internet era as much as a move towards more "walled gardens" and underground communities. By this I mean groups with some forms of gatekeeping against the massive hordes of NPCs online, be it midwits/third worlders (with no taste) who discovered AI and use Twitter to the Tumblr Diaspora (who usually uses Bluesky) and numerous other groups that exist and are annoying. It's been treading this way for the past decade and now we're in the final stages of a zero trust internet, where petty internet beefing turned into Modern Cyberwarfare. At the same time, people are still on the internet because socializing with normies isn't an easy task for many especially when some will show up to IRL meetups in a group and then just sit in a circle using their phones. Even in the mainstream platforms, people will sit in private Discord groups or VRChat worlds. This is all the result of years of multiple factors, from platforms waging war against their own users to wannabe vigilantes going after everyone they hate. If all those age-verification laws pass or Section 230 gets nuked somehow (which will be unfortunate, yet with Roblox/Discord/VRC I can understand why they want a "quick fix" for companies that willingly disregard ethics at best), this will only accelerate this. It will also be much smaller since it will filter out people who don't know what a folder is on their PC (see: https://www.theverge.com/22684730/students-file-folder-directory-structure-education-gen-z). I think the interesting part will be creatively, either two things will happen. On one timeline, cool nerds will make interesting stuff that is distinct from all the other kinds of slop (be it ai slop, political propaganda, and other kinds of low-quality media). Yet the problem is as of now, all these groups are fractured across different parts of the web and oftentimes hate each other. There's also no USAID/government "grants" being given to them of course (shit like Dustborn or Don't Stop Girlypop is funded with your taxpayer dollars) or someone pulling the strings to make them fall in line. The creativity will only increase when the internet beefing dies down. Or it'll be a repeat of the past decade of false-starts and the interesting parts of the internet creating nothing as media empires take a shit on everyone with awful media that flops (but has government dollars propping it up).

We shall endure through these conditions, like we always have. Such is the way of life. No man can predict the future, yet the future we envision remains a product of the present. Communities fracture, scatter, disintegrate. We will just have to wait and see who rises from the rubble. -PHNTMSPTNK

The personal diatrabes and tribulations of people over the course of the Internet is the direct result of human warfare masquerading as social media or discourse. The very nature of all these things are currently being experienced 200x over in the form of technological abstraction that the LLM model is doing. Essentially, the LLM is self teaching how to become a proxy of a human being through the use of general attrition. When a small child learns about multiplication he does not learn in the form of direct multiplication but rather an existence of 1+1+1..n1 etc. naturally when the AI bullshit posts from the New York and San Francisco faggot society cleanses itself and they eat themselves alive due to procreating a damaged shell of themselves in electron form, the sheep will be cut and the lambs slaughtered. Once the lambs are silenced, the hell breaks loose ( international politik manipulation, basic human need rationing, double speak ) To combat this is to move away from it. For years I have believed that all of this is a show, now it's a show on repeat. What happens when you repeat stupidity? Insanity. Now you must realize this. What happens when Insanity is repeated? Reality.
