the whole socmed format is just cancer. i'm currently trying to setup a twitter cli client so i can just see posts from people that i think say generative and thought provoking things and filter out all else, all ads, suggested posts and imagery all together. kinda as if it was an rss feed

Twitter's format is mostly to blame. I have this gripe about all social media, but twitter is the worst.
It's an [h1attention contest[/h1].
Posts have likes, and people see those as points that are more important than real talking. The issue is specially compounded in twitter's case because of retweets and the char limit. Tell me, why does a site supposedly for communication require use of a site like twitlonger (basically pastebin) in order to type a full thought? It's absolutely mindboggling.
Some might wonder what this has to do with being a tranny and pedo safehaven. Well the simple answer is that attention contests attract attention whores and people who want validation. Trannies and pedos are fringe sex freaks and require daily validation or their world view falls apart (how can a man believe he's a woman if people don't reinforce this daily?).
Twitter needs to be deleted entirely, it serves no purpose. Even among the other big social media companies, what does it do that others don't do better? Art, you can use inatagram (still shit but has a purpose). Communication, facebook has provided that for a very long time.
Twitter is entirely awful, delete your twitter account if you have one, you don't need it.

from what I remember, the Tumblr porn ban from some years ago caused a ton of the LGBT acceptance group to migrate to Twitter. this sped up the tumour growth quite a bit so Twitter quickly outcancered the other social media platforms. (though they have all been consistently worsening, so this was inevitable).
the MAP/zoophile type are generally much more accepted in LGBT circles, making twitter one of the best sites for them to gain validation.
though a good thing to keep in mind is that there are probably a ton of bots pretending to be real people on Twitter (I remember some guy testing this out with an ip grabber and a large portion of profiles he tested would click the link with inhuman speed, the same would happen if the link was presented as an ip grabber).

yeah there's probably only about 10,000 users on there really. it's so gamed to hell its funny really, if it wasn't so concerning. basically every website that exceeds 1m impressions a month is probably best just assumed to be entirely trolled and controlled, and the real world implications of that are extremely severe as "people" mimic these behavior thoughts and patterns that are

It can be nice sometimes, but it's so hard to wade through all the bullshit to find people who post stuff you're interested in. Follow an artist, and you'll get all their friend's art that they are retweeting (if you're lucky), as well as all their retarded political opinions or retweets. Novelty accounts that do one specific thing well can be great until they HAVE TO get political or whine about how much "abuse" they get. As far as I'm concerned, there is only one good twitter account, which belongs to wint (@dril). He is consistently making the most garbage posts on the site and it makes me laugh every time.

Yeah this is definitely one of the most concerning parts. I keep telling people to get off social media and they seem to think that the problems with social media are just implementation problems and not fundamental problems that always come. Hey guys, we made a clone of the Big Mac, I'm sure it has less calories since it's not made by Burger King!
People just need to GET OFF OF social media. It's not good for communication or discussion in comparison to forums and instant message, aka the things built for actual conversations and talking, not popularity contests with likes and stupid shit like that. I fucking hate it.
The best thing you can do is help others get off of social media entirely. The first thing you can do is make yourself available outside of it, and make it more convenient for people to interact with you outside of it. Of course, this is already the case if you just don't use it, but make options for others more accessible so they don't have as much of a convenience card to play. Especially now is a good time to do it with people getting banned left and right, you can make the case for people that they don't need more social media, they need other things.
