any wagies in here? currently being a summer wagie to save up extra cash ill need in the future. getting payed 9.50 an hour, not much but it is my first actual job so better than what those poor fools get working at mcdonalds or whatever. I work in the sun most of the time and it definitely feels great to get outside of the house especially now, but my free time really takes a toll with working a 9 to 5. Does anyone else feel drained after a days work? like ive noticed my appetite has really grown with the labor that i do and i cant really fast whenever i want to anymore or get a good exercise in at home when im so tired now. need to train myself to fix this somehow.

Not wageslaving just yet but I plan on getting a job sometime soon, can't work at the gas station down the street just yet since you have to be 18 to work behind the counter due to the cigarettes and stuff (I'm 17 atm). There are a couple of other small places around my house I could maybe get something at though so I'll have to ask around some more.

No job yet, but I will be joining to Union to work in my first real job. I'm not too excited but not overly bummed about it either.

but yes work is draining unfortunately. thats the simple truth. in time your body will get used to it, i am still able to exercise after a 10 hour shift in the heat but it isnt easy. if you dont like it consider your options for later in life seeing as how this is your first job and i presume you are young. personally, i will be moving into an air conditioned environment. makes all the difference in my case. dont mind being a wageslave. just like fixing things.

normal: 6-8 hr days just lifting heavy stuff back and forth. when i come home it's a second pot of coffee and some oatmeal & i'm ready to roll again, so typically i'm doing 2 workouts a day. days off, i take rest from workouts & just work on creative endeavors for like 18 hours straight through. now: highly doubt that they're taking precautions over there whenever stock is trucked in from out of state and there's a 0.00% chance in hell the city has decontaminated the buses that go along the route that i ride into work. since i'm packed in like sardines with quarantined roommates, it's not particularly safe to go back to work so it's NEET living for the first time in 6 years.

the neet life is my end goal, i wanted to invest in stock and crypto for passive income when i got my first job but i cant really trust how much the market drops so much now since the economy is so bad, scared to loose what i put in. ill really get into the /biz/ness someday, but not right now...

NEET isn't a goal. Thats just life "in between"...you can't stay there forever. I do contract work....mostly 3-7 day jobs 12-20 hour days(worst was 22-hour shoot with 4 hour turnaround the next day not including the commute). Sometimes longer, I've done 1-month contracts with a few hold days that I didn't end up working never longer than that though. Its exhausting, mentally more than physically. I've got a new opportunity on the horizon that will be more akin to a 9-5. Worse pay but with all this virus shit my work has slowed to a near halt. When I'm not bring home the bread I'm in the network. either lower level or WWW doing what I can or fucking around. Clownin as I call it

it's great to be a wagie, put letters in people's e-mail that you're a decker looking to install office. old ladies age 65+ don't know how to plug in a printer. you get like $80 an hour off that kind of work. easy money
This device is used by fixers to transfer their physical body (but not equipment) almost completely into the Grid, yet retain a presence in the real world. The link between the Grid and reality is maintained by a Multi-Spatial Phasing Beacon. What is left of the fixer in the real world is a semi-solid web of energy that the fixer controls as easily as they would their own body. When in this state, the only way the fixer can be damaged is if the Multi-Spatial Phasing Beacon is itself damaged, which hovers in the center of the energy web. A symbiotic link is maintained between the fixer and the Beacon while this device is worn - if the Beacon is destroyed, the fixer will die. However, given the small size of the Beacon, the majority of attacks tend to be avoided.

First job out of highschool I applied to the local indoor waterpark where my friends worked. When I came into the interview they asked if i had ever cooked. I told them that i grew up watching my mom cook and they took me upstairs to the kitchen and gave me the job. I had never had a job in my life and my menue didnt expand beyond mac n cheese, tendies and PB&J. I had no idea what I was doing. The most training I had was the test I had to take to get my city food service card. after two days I was in charge of the entire food service opperation. The waterpark was falling apart. Condensation would drip on my neck and face depending on if I had my cap forwards or backwards respectively. No tip money lots of pressure and $9.75/hr. I thought I hated it so I applied to the ski resort in the town i grew up in. My manager let me leave early to drive to the other town and told me to call them back and make the interview for the same afternoon. I thanked him and never came back except for my last check and to pick up my buddy when his car broke down. what i made out of this is, no matter where you are is the best place for you in the moment, you may deserve or need more but dont let that take away from your experience. most of you seem to be my age when all this happened. dont stop kings, NEET isnt defeat either. do whats best for you and always keep an eye out for unclosed doors.

You should avoid working for as much as humanly possible, and instead make a living out of despoiling the system for as long as it doesn't kill you. All the supposed upsides of work besides the most important one (money) are a cope, plain and simple, so if you can get money for anything else other than work, you should do it. A job only serves to put man at the level of a beast, or of a mental handicapped, and there's no institution with riches stored that doesn't deserve to be scammed and robbed. Getting neetbux is far more honorable than working.

Pubs are about to open where i'm at and i'm looking for a new job with haste. Don't want to deal with the public and be paid shitty money for it. Just applied to a couple of warehouse jobs with immediate starts. Seems like it's decent hours with modest pay which is all i'm looking for at the moment. Graduated from university last June with a degree in aeronautical engineering and have struggled to find a job. Had tons of emails the past couple months saying 'no longer accepting new graduates due to the pandemic', or i'll have applied for jobs that have had their positions already filled. Wish I got an internship or something during uni... Hell, these days I wish i never even went there, and just got on with life learning to be a mechanic or a sparky.

same boat as Post 365:508 but in CS, finally got a remote job where I'm not making too much, but I have full control over *how* I'm programming. I had the same struggles, fishing for an internship & only got one by luck on my last year, I'd be a better programmer if I never went & did it on my own, but now I wonder if i really would've been "less certified".

Post 365:514 At least in the field of programming, college really doesn't do much for you. The time you used could have been used to start getting your foot into the industry and doing programming for other stuff, both personal projects and others. I have no plans to go to college because everyone I know who went (at least for STEM) regretted or is regretting it. Those kinds of skills are more akin to a trade than you'd think, and honestly college can't really help you with it much. You learn much faster when you're just experimenting and working on stuff independently. That's where I learned programming.

Post 365:518 oh ofc, my real learning was always done outside of the class & the coursework usually got in the way of it. On the final year I wrote a lexer & parser in rust & was given a 0 because my prof couldn't understand it (or read the comments apparently)

Post 365:518 College is all about certification (corporations are increasingly requiring them), living exotic experiences and cultivating contacts for the future. In europe university is almost free so there are less downsides I guess...
