“You print that in the New York Times, Guy, and I'm gonna kill myself.”One day you will be faced with a life altering event. It will fundamentally change who you are inside. It will hurt. It will sting. You will reconcile the trauma with the reassurance that it was out of your control, that it's just how life goes.
One day you will be years removed from the situation, you say to yourself that it's all in the past. You will be older, more mature. Thoughts in a section of your brain, once thought to be forgotten and kept to the crevasses of the past will reemerge. You will wake up one night, and become engulfed in a catharsis of realization.
Every word, every decision you made that led you to where you are now, everything you thought was out of your control and was just bad luck that happened to hit you, was totally and utterly your fault. You won't cry, you won't get mad. You will breathe a sigh of accountability and acceptance.
"Oh well." You say to yourself.
