Introduction to the 3DT Network

Since we haven't yet created a page that clearly lists all sections of the 3DT Network in its current state, let me introduce you to them:

3DT Network Sites

The 3DT Network is made up of several interconnected sites that work together to provide a full Network Experience.

fkom

fkom is the forum system and the core of 3DT. Logins and registration for the network are done through here, and of course, posting and discussion is mainly done here. It supports most BBCode, although the quick buttons at the top of the post editor aren't very comprehensive. Some custom BBCode is supported, like in the case of user mentions and YouTube/VidLii embeds. Threads in the past week are ranked in FLAMING based on their reply count. Within the threads posted in the last 7 days, the one ranked at the top of FLAMING is the one with the most replies. You can also go through threads sorted by their reply count or their original post date.

Multiman

Multiman is the group chat system where realtime communication happens. Users can freely create their own groups to communicate amongst each other. It also serves as the de-facto way for contacting members privately. In the future we'll have a proper forum PM system that's integrated with Multiman. Most people are in a large group called Zone Xtract, which you are free to join. Groups auto-delete 30 days after the most recent message, so if you leave a group dormant, it will expire by itself. On the other hand, you can set a custom expiration date when creating a group, but it will not prevent auto-deletion from inactivity. Groups retain 1,000 chat messages; any older messages are deleted. This is because chats within Multiman are considered ephemeral, and you should use the forum for anything you want to exist for longer than a month. If you prefer to use IRC, you can connect to Multiman through your IRC client and access all your groups that way. I have written a news post that explains how to set it up.

VidSys

VidSys is our video sharing system. You can use it to upload, comment on, rate and favorite videos. When you upload a video, you can choose to make it visible to anyone (include non-members), members only, or to yourself only with "private". If you set your video to private, you can also allow a specific list of users to view it too by adding them to the invite list. Videos are converted to low quality 240p MP4 and higher quality 480p VP9 WebM currently. Admins and operators also have access to 720p and 1080p conversions. Videos support embedded subtitles and some metadata. You can also upload audio, including FLAC, MP3, OGG, and pretty much any other format. These will be converted to mid-quality OGG and high quality (almost lossless) Opus. VidSys understands audio metadata including title and artist, and will also extract embedded album covers and use them as a high quality thumbnail for the upload. There are limits to the amount of videos you can upload per day which I forget right now, but unless you're spamming, you should be fine. In the future, it may cost Kredits to upload. For now, you can earn Kredits by uploading, which you can use to buy a vanity URL for your channel. VidSys, like many other parts of 3DT, supports RSS for subscribing to channels in your news feed reader if you don't want to have to check on the website for new videos from your subscriptions.

NetKommand

NetKommand is 3DT's legacy chat system. It supports a single chatroom without chat history being available to users joining, which is similar to a basic IRC channel. It also has a seldom-used private chat feature where you can send private chat messages to users that are currently online on NetKommand. There are also some easter eggs in it. NetKommand is currently the only system in the 3DT Network that allows members and non-members to interact.

Profiles

You can view any member's profile by going to https://3dtestosterone.net/fkom/dataluxer/<member username>. For example, my profile URL is https://3dtestosterone.net/fkom/dataluxer/termer. You can use profiles to see a user's public info, Kredit count, and most recent threads and replies.

What Are Kredits?

Kredits are the currency used within the 3DT Network. They can be used to buy various upgrades and cool shit on our sites. We haven't done much with them yet, but we have plans to incorporate them into more things. You can view your Kredit count on your profile.

Welcome to the 3DT Network.
