This is a really simple tutorial on how to install JK2MV and get playing. It's a pretty active community and you can learn a lot from the people playing it, they are over 10+ year old veterans of the game. First off, you need the files in order to actually play the game. You technically kan edit q3 asset packs, but it's going to be missing a lot of stuff. THat's only if you're a real pirate. I may do a tutorial on that in the future. [LINUX] Here are the assets you need // [ https://anonfiles.com/L8p5d3Cfu5/jk2pk3_zip ] Then you need to download or compile depending on your distribution, I was using slackware and it was as simple as generating cmake files and then make && make install Download here: https://github.com/mvdevs/jk2mv#howto-build-jk2mv For Ubuntu: https://github.com/mvdevs/jk2mv/releases/download/1.4.1/jk2mv-v1.4.1-linux-amd64.deb For Fedora: https://github.com/mvdevs/jk2mv/releases/download/1.4.1/jk2mv-v1.4.1-linux-amd64.rpm After you install you need to have a similar file structure ~/jk2 base/ jk2mvmp jk2mvded [This is the dedicated server do not run this if you are simply connecting and want to play] Move the assets you downloaded from above [anonfiles] and put all the *.pk3 within the base folder. Again, you need this to actually load all the sounds, models, and other files for the game. Then go back to ~/jk2 and run this command ./jk2mvmp And you're done! -- [WINDOWS] Windows is pretty self explanatory, you download the exe, create a folder for your base similar to linux and put all the files within the base folder and run the jk2mv file. For the lazy, I've attached the .zip that holds everything you need to run a Windows based JK2 client. Download here: [ https://anonfiles.com/t7sad7C6u6/jk2mv_windows_zip ] Let's play some fucking games!
