I'm pretty peculiar towards The Lawnmower Man and Stealth (2005)
The Beach is pretty good too. Never read the book however so I don't know how well of an adaption it became.

Star Wars.
TV Shows like Altered Carbon are good too.
This device is used by fixers to transfer their physical body (but not equipment) almost completely into the Grid, yet retain a presence in the real world. The link between the Grid and reality is maintained by a Multi-Spatial Phasing Beacon. What is left of the fixer in the real world is a semi-solid web of energy that the fixer controls as easily as they would their own body. When in this state, the only way the fixer can be damaged is if the Multi-Spatial Phasing Beacon is itself damaged, which hovers in the center of the energy web. A symbiotic link is maintained between the fixer and the Beacon while this device is worn - if the Beacon is destroyed, the fixer will die. However, given the small size of the Beacon, the majority of attacks tend to be avoided.

Maybe not necessarily my favorite, but a hidden gem i think gets overlooked is Swordfish. Paul Oakenfold OST, John Travolta, Hugh Jackman. Really cheesy and marketed as "The Matrix Killer" ala "halo killer" or "oblivion killer". really a product of an older time

my dad was obsessed with Swordfish when it came out lmao

Post 444:449 It's the perfect amalgam of late 90's/early 20's cyber/techno punk. John Travolta really hams it up. Perfect Trash

District B13 is probably my favorite movie, it's a French film with a relatively generic plot, but lots of unique action with stuff like Parkour, Hand-to-Hand combat, and it's all wrapped together in this neat world of a walled off French ghetto.

The Matrix really made a huge impression on younger me. The sequels were mostly good for the action and the expansion of the in-movie universe, which I was obsessed with for quite some time.
Terminator 2 is up there too.

The Matrix is one of the last movies where it explicitly showed authority figures as antagonists getting their shit ruined
Also, while CGI doesn't tend to age well - T2 set precedent and there is still much of that movie that retains its gold standard for special effects and CGI

“Casio F91W Watch is reliable, has a low profile, and cheap.”My favorite films are probably Taxi Driver and Bladerunner.
Taxi Driver is great for immersing you into the mindset of its protagonist, while Bladerunner immerses you into its world.
I use artix btw

david lynch's dune. i love the universe of dune and think he did a great job with it. a universe where mankind has realized the error of his ways relying on the computer thinking machines and where you focus on growing and becoming stronger in your own body. i see the dune universe as a realistic future for humanity.

my favourite, ever: the fifth element
i like peppermint candy and some others. something about foreign language films that has their artifice less blatant by very nature of not being able to parse the audio play of the actor and actresses. but fifth element one of the few that supersede that regardless
